What Is a Stick Pack?

A stick pack is a single dose bag sealed on three sides and made of one folded strip of laminate film.

TYPES

There are several types of stick packs depending on someone’s needs:

• Standard: the basic type of stick pack. Sealed on three sides with a central fin on the back. It comes in any dimension for single serve. Most of the time the dimension and dose depend on the market itself though.
• Twin: a pair of two stick packs obtained with a perforation between the joint stick packs. They are ideal for special applications (e.g. different products provided together, but in different stick packs) or whenever it is desirable to keep many stick packs attached together (e.g. save space in a display box).
• Lap-seal: a stick pack without any fin on the back. One edge of the strip overlaps the other to give a cleaner look to the stick pack.
  

  

• Shaped: a shaped stick pack can be used to create suitable packages for the consumers. For instance a bag for liquids with bottle neck to ease spilling.
• Pillow: these stick packs are suitable to accomodate larger doses of product.
  

  

• Strip: Strips of stick packs are very common in those markets where single dose bags are rather appreciated for their convenience but with a preference/need for providing more bags attached together. They are also chosen for filling up larger American boxes as opposed to display boxes.
• Side fin: a stick pack with the fin placed on one side of the bag. This choice usually derives from marketing needs.
