What Is a Stand up Pouch?

Pouches are earning lots of popularity in the packaging world. Their convenience is particularly appreciated due to lower material consumption, simplicity in customization, wide room for graphics, ease of transportation, durability throughout time, as compared to other types of packaging. Stand up pouches (or Doypacks) stand on their own and may come with spouts to facilitate pouring.

TYPES

Here are some common configurations for stand up pouches:

  • Standard: a simple pouch to be opened by tearing off the laminate near the upper seal.
  • Central spout: a pouch with a convenient spout located in the centre to ease pouring.
  • Side spout: a pouch with a convenient spout located on one side to ease pouring.
  • Zipper: a pouch with a zip closure to provide an airtight closure.
  • Eurohole: a pouch that can be easily hung up thanks to the eurohole in the centre of the upper seal.
