What Is a Sachet?

A sachet is a single-serve bag sealed on four sides and made of two strips of laminate film.

TYPES

There are several types of sachets depending on someone’s needs:

• Standard: the basic yet most widespread type of sachet. It comes in any dimension for single serve. Most of the time the dimension and dose depend on the market itself though.
  
• Twin, triplets,…: a pair of two or more sachets obtained with a perforation between the joint sachets. They are ideal for special applications (e.g. different products provided together, but in different sachets) or whenever it is desirable to keep more sachets attached together (e.g. placing twin sachets in a display box).
  
  
• Strip: Strips of sachets are very common in those markets where single dose bags are rather appreciated for their convenience but with a preference/need for providing more than one sachet together. They are also chosen for filling up larger American boxes as opposed to display boxes.
  
  
• Bag in bag: a smart choice for packing a product in a bag, while packing the bag into another bag. It usually comes with the use of different laminates: the inner one used for packing the dosed product, the outer one for packing the sachet (e.g. ground coffee is usually packed in a paper based laminate, then sealed into a plastic based laminate). It is the most sought after solution in the single dose infusions market but can also be found in other markets (pharmaceutical, chemical, small objects, etc.).
  
  
• Shaped: round or other original suitable shapes, to spark that wow effect on the consumers.
