How do we keep track of spare parts?

Every spare part is registered with a unique code in our database. On our data sheets, we record many other useful information about spare parts, such as:

  • Optimized stock availability. You can rely on over 80k codified high-quality spare parts available at any time.
  • MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure). Every component has its own MTBF and we calculate this parameter in years, depending on the criticality of any spare part.
  • Lead Time. This unit is significant to guarantee the shortest delivery time of the spare parts.
  • Criticality. This parameter represents the importance of any spare part for your machine. Higher criticality usually means higher delivery time and lower MTBF. Critical spare parts requires preventive and planned delivery, in order to reduce machine downtime and increase efficiency.

3D Model Spare view

3D Model Spare view

As we want to improve the spare parts management service, Universal Pack provides you with a Software Visualizer of the CAD 3D Model of your packaging machine or line.

The software and the viewer include free access for the first 2 years. You only need an internet connection to install them for displaying your 3D model.

After these procedures, you can freely work on the 3D drawings and do the following actions:

  • Identify spare parts locations and their code number with MTBF and other useful information;
  • Prepare a list of spare parts to be ordered;
  • Prepare “assembling – dismounting” procedures;
  • Define “standard/non-standard” maintenance procedures.
