Which Dosing Systems are Suitable for Packaging Liquids?
The gravimetric dosing works well with low-viscosity liquids. This dosing solution uses the gravity to control product flow and allow the liquid to flow into the stick packs. The opening time of the peristaltic closure determines the dose into the stick packs. The peristaltic closure also allows filled stick packs to be sealed, by blocking the flowing of the product. To summarize, the gravimetric system offers minimum maintenance, high flexibility, high dosing accuracy and ease of cleaning.
On the other hand, the flowmeter is suitable for dosing semi-liquids and viscous products, with micro-adjustable dose control. The difference between flowmeter and gravimetric dosing lies in their operating principles. While the gravimetric is based on the opening and closing time of the peristaltic closure, the flowmeter calculates the mass of the flowing liquid through sensors.

Formats
Universal Pack stick pack machines are specifically dedicated to single-dose packages. For example, we can dose from 0.1 up to 100 ml of liquids, semi-liquids and low-viscosity products in a stick pack, the dimensions of which vary depending on your marketing goals, nature of the products and production requirements.
Moreover, we provide you with the possibility to easily integrate your stick pack machine in a Universal Pack packaging line for cartoning. Our lines allow you to insert from 1 to more than 100 stick packs in one carton. We have developed patented counting units for any number of packages to be picked and placed into cartons. In recent years, our philosophy is to save as much material and product as possible, both for economic and environmental sustainability.
Laminates
Universal Pack stick pack machines for free-flowing liquids can process all typical heat-sealable composite films, such as: PAP-ALU-PE (paper – aluminum – polyethylene), PET-ALU-PE (polyethylene terephthalate – aluminum – polyethene) and cold-sealable materials. Our machines can also work with more sustainable laminates such as PP (polypropylene), PLA (polylactic acid), Bio-PE (bio-based polyethylene), and more on request.

Our non-stop research in reducing the packaging industry’s carbon footprint resulted in streamlined machinery design for processing recycled, recyclable and compostable laminates. LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is used to measure the environmental impact of our products and identify optimal ways to reduce it. It is a 360° analysis that goes beyond the mere packaging produced and involves every step of the packaging machinery production process.
